THE FANTASTIC FOUR
Featuring: Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis, Julian McMahon
Brief Synopsis: A bunch of people go up to a space station and are given amazing special powers when something exciting happens. How they cope with their powers back on earth is a what the film continues to explore.

Comments: Well I missed 'a bit' of the film due to having afternoon tea with my mum & walked in on the bit where the special powers are just about coming to.

The special effects are great. It makes all the Marvel films worth watching. And the ones that you think are rubbish actually appear somewhat useful in the film - for instance Mr. Fantastic and stretchy limbs just seem well not productive. But in the film, you go ahhhh, it might not be so rubbish after all.

What makes the comics come go life are also the storylines and this one explored all the different people coming to terms with their respective powers. The storyline was quite basic but varied enough because of the fact that there were 5 different characters (also a bit sterotyped but life is like that). My brother loved The Invisible Woman and she is indeed rather attractive with her idealistic big sister/love interest role - do super heros wear such low cut tops though? It was also nice to finally know what Doctor Doom's special power was apart from wearing a mask too.

The film itself is ok. A bit of a no-brainer but with enough fed storylines to keep the kids happy with the special effects for the adults. I would expect a lot more out of the sequel though as this really does just feel like a warm up for something bigger. So don't go expecting anything special but just a simple McDonald's-esque film (but better than the rubbish toys they give you with the Happy Meal).

Things to learn from this film: When you say you will love your partner regardless of any situation, you should be careful in case he goes into space & returns looking like a big piece of rock.
Rating: 5.5 /10

Me and Danny will do a review for Fantastic 4 for you.

from me,

One of the best Marvel films to come out so far as it is full of witty one liners that is great for both adults and kids. Also contains the very sexy Invisible Woman who adds the umpt factor to the film. Add to that, that her brother (the Human Torch) is the ultimate player and there is enough testosterone to fuel up the ferrari! The visuals are great (especially Alba!) and even though the story line won't rank up there with the literary classics, it was simple enough to be follow yet contained the depth to remain interesting. The characters were played well and this enabled a certain amount of empathy with respect to; what would you do ifyou were them? Altogether a very entertaining film which is fun for all the family. PS Did I mention that Alba is hot.
